Hi! And welcome to Voice Notes with Taylor & Perri, where we decided that the best way for us to tell our friends and family about our three month adventure abroad is to voice record ourselves processing our days (usually sitting in bed with brushed teeth and tired feet). We imagine some days we’ll have too many stories to tell, and other days we might not have much to say at all. But that’s the beauty of voice notes— we get to share (insert magnitude of significance) moments, and everything in between. We miss you, we love you, and we hope you laugh with us as we laugh at ourselves.

Day 31
Friday Mar 28, 2025
Friday Mar 28, 2025
We open on Day 31, which also happens to be Opening Day for the Atlanta Braves — because what’s a global podcast adventure without a little MLB shoutout which turns into a shoutout to the realest fans laughing in their trucks. Noah & Chloe. Y’all are the reason this magic exists.
From there, we spiral into the sociological impact of podcasting on baby voice usage. Apparently, this very podcast has rewired their brains into speaking like grownups instead of mushy gremlins. But don’t worry — silly voices live on through new alter egos, including “Pee Pee the 20-Year-Old Boy,” a social media manager for a baseball card company who says things like “Sweet pull, bro!” to 55-year-old men and 17 year old tween adults.
Then...
Today did NOT go according to plan.
What was supposed to be a sun-drenched farewell walk to the coffee shop ended up a full-blown wring-out-your-socks thunderstorm of doom. But, we tried without the giving of up. With one baby umbrella, soggy backpacks, and a three-legged-race energy, we slip-slided our way down the hill, holding onto each other and holding on to life.
Then it's a series of laundromat, coffee shop, coffee stand, laundromat, coffee shop, pizza shop, back up again. Or something like that...
A little rain can't reach my parade! Until your favorite spot it — closed. Favorite baristas? Gone. Emotional goodbye? Gone. Forced to improvise, we take a few trips around town and land at Jerry's. Kind Jerry.
It was time for the final climb and for kissing goodbye the leg strength I'd have if I did that for 11 months instead of 11 days.
We made it just in time to reflect on how dreamy this little cliffside town has been. The kind of place that softens you from the inside out. We talk about what it would feel like to live there for a year — and how beautiful it’s been to build a tiny, real life in this magical corner of the world.

Day 30
Friday Mar 28, 2025
Friday Mar 28, 2025
Today’s episode isn’t just a podcast. It’s a journey. A workout audio session. A 500+ stair, seven-phase, epic quest up a mountainside in the rain — recorded live, mid-hike, mid-pant, and with zero shame.
We kick off strong with some scripture: “Who shall ascend the mountain?” Taylor asks, as if we’re not just trying to survive 30 minutes of cardio mid chat. Perri says Moses, which is kinda the wrong answer...
We walk you through our favorite landmarks: their favorite barista (Lisa, who now hugs them, as all good friends do), the soccer field, and that one steep corner that makes them question rolling down the mountain. It’s rainy, slippery, and aggressively uphill — the perfect time to ask you, dear listener, “How was your day?” (Take your time responding so we can gasp for oxygen.)
In between wheezes, we learn essential cultural info climbing strategies, you name it. You're on a tour.
Then we reach Dogtown — Phase Five of the climb and a flat stretch where you're walked through the ecosystem of baby poop piles (allegedly from baby dogs), a German shepherd with a T-Rex arm aesthetic, and one mysterious woman who always seems to be talking out her window. It's perfect.
And finally, the last climb. Phase Seven. We count down, press on, power up... and we. make. it.

Day 29
Friday Mar 28, 2025
Friday Mar 28, 2025
It’s Day 29, and the craving spiral begins. They start naming all the food we miss like it’s roll call — Chipotle, Upbeet, Cookout trays, Cajun fries, and yes, even Moe’s gets a shoutout. Also we admit Ringo cookies are now part of the daily nutrition plan, because Oreos by any other name still taste like home.
We then pivot to a soulful declaration of podcasting purity: “If this podcast becomes a job, I quit.” A refusal to sell out. It’s art, it’s anarchy, it’s authentic chaos.
Major decisions are made today: sugar is now for weekends only (unless it’s a birthday, or family’s in town, or a really emotionally complex Tuesday).
(Insert a bunch of stuff, here)
Then the episode descends — beautifully — into what can only be described as Things We Notice. Turns out, there are no toilet seats in many of the women’s bathrooms, so it’s a daily decision between the hover-squat and the risk-it-all sit (Taylor is grossed out and Perri doesn't have the attention span to care). The men’s restrooms apparently involve some abstract approach to aim, with more “around the hole” than “into it.” The napkins in restaurants feel like waxy parchment. You have serious disadvantage in a nose-blowing contest.
Cash is king here, as we’ve noticed the locals are still living in a cash-first society. Meanwhile, trash is sorted into five different bins — like a miniature recycling Olympics. Both things that are wonderful.
The stairs? Yes, we beat our previous climb record by two minutes and filmed a time-lapse video to finally reveal the seven phase journey.
Stay tuned for tomorrow, a dramatic stair-session finale full of heavy breathing, wheezing, and maybe even a mountain-top revelation. But probably just more breathing.
We also spend their workday people-watching at our favorite café, where we fully immersed themselves in the slow-burning drama of an Italian love story unfolding at the next table.

Day 28
Friday Mar 28, 2025
Friday Mar 28, 2025
It’s Day 28, and which leads us to 828, the sacred number that ties together feeling like God is near and a readiness to propose. We open strong with a shoutout to the legendaries Ally and Samantha, a bowling lot banger of a song, and a mush-fest about how awesome our friends are — so awesome.
Why are all dreams either stressful or scary or just bad? Where are the flying whales and disco parties? We hope for answers and information on “How To Have Nice Dreams.”
Next, our lovely little routine with an added flatbread and a panini, both starring mozzarella and prosciutto, strutted onto the scene like edible twins. Different formats, same ingredients, total satisfaction.
Then came the stair walk of power with a new strategy discovered on Taylor's "timing us going up the hill" adventure. The tortoise did beat the hare, baby.
Then veggies, business lessons, dreams of generational wealth for their 15 loyal listeners (whom they love very much - is it getting to be too much?). The rest and in between are silly and I'm afraid may not be much value to you other than hopefully it makes you feel like you can be silly, too. XOXO, our friends!
